The History of Our University goes back to more than four centu­ries than they have been rich in experiences and events.

The university by tradition is in constant transformation and im­provement that has known to be placed to the rate of the times, always tie to science and the culture and bound to the best inter­ests of the Mexican people.

The 15 of April of 1587 was born el Colegio del Spiritu Santo an­cient name of our University. Since this time on, the University evolved from being a religious Institution to become one of the most liberal Educative center.
The Benémerita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, has raised and educated important leaders that have ruled our city and participa­ted in a direct way in the construction of what Mexico is today.

Such people is the Current Governor of our city, as well as the Mayor of Puebla
The participation of BUAP in the transformation of Mexico in se­veral fields has been angular, such as democratization, human rights, vote of women in the fields of Humanities.
In science, is promoter and in sometime producer of New techno­logy to low cost.
In current times the university count with more than 5 campus plus the main siege in Puebla city.

Its Iles and Class rooms lodge, 55, 000 students, it offers several options of education in the fields of: Humanities, Natural scien­ces, Social Sciences, Health, Administration Sciences, Sciences and Technology, Agropecuary Sciences and Exact Sciences, coun­ting with an academic offer of: 40 Careers, 40 Master Degrees, 12 PHDs studies.

One of the pioneers in Distances Education in the country, Most of their Lectures dedicated time to the field of Research.
